Identification

Identification is a process that confirms an individual's identity by comparing their unique physiological or behavioral traits (biometric data) with the reference data of other individuals stored in the system (a 1:n comparison).
This reference data is stored in a database. A large number of comparisons takes place. The person is identified as the individual whose biometric data record corresponds with the biometric data record of the person in the database, within tolerance limits.

Determination of identity – Who is it? 1:n comparisonThe user does not know what happens with the reference data in the database.

Kaba Benzing’s Identification Solution
The unique biometric data in the employee’s fingerprint is recorded along with their personnel number and stored in the Bedanet 91 20 FP fingerprint terminals. The biometric data (finger templates) is recorded with an enrollment station. While recording their fingerprint template, the users learn how to properly place their finger on the terminal. The enrollment station also offers optical feedback regarding the quality of the recorded template. The enrollment software files these templates in the concentrator database. The enrollment station is connected to the PC that runs the enrollment software and the concentrator database. This PC distributes templates to the individual Bedanet 91 20 Fingerprint terminals. This means that for identification purposes, the templates are located in the Bedanet 91 20 Fingerprint Terminal.

The terminal identifies the employee by matching the employee's fingerprint with a template containing the employee's personnel number (a 1:n comparison). The corresponding personnel number is then used in the AC system. The employee’s access permissions are made in the Bedanet 92 90. No specialties must be considered. Bedanet 91 20 Fingerprint terminals are freely combinable with Bedanet 91 04, Bedanet 91 05, and Bedanet 91 20 below a Bedanet 92 90. No cards are necessary - each person uses the fingerprint for identification.
