B-COMM® Java

The communication program

The IT structures of companies use a wide range of hardware platforms, network technologies, operating systems, and software applications. Organization is often supplemented by data recording systems for access control, time and attendance, and shop floor data collection. The new communication program B-COMM Java has been developed for integrating these registration processes into the IT structures. Programmed in modern Java architecture, it allows communication between the recording terminals and the software applications, independently of the computer or operating system platforms.

The partner’s big advantage of these features is that the interface to the application needs to be programmed only once and can still be used on all platforms. Furthermore, the individual B-COMM Java modules and the software applications can also be installed on different computers.

By using UNICODE, B-COMM Java is prepared for processing all internationally known fonts and can thus be used worldwide.

The optional module CardLink™ is of particular use to our partners. It is integrated in the partner's application and allows extending the online access control by access solutions with digital and wireless door components.
An example for the use of trendsetting technologies is the biometric module for identifying people in data recording.

Functions of B-COMM Java and its modules

The selection of the required B-COMM Java modules depends on the desired solution.
The modules at a glance:

  • B-COMM Java Server
Provides all objects and methods and manages the complete configuration of the overall system. It communicates with all modules and applications of the partner.
  • B-COMM Java I O
It is the communication module for data exchange between the terminals and the software application(s) and forwards the data in both directions depending on the requirements. All data records and activities are logged.
  • B-COMM Java Helper
It works as interface between B-COMM Java and a partner application that is not programmed using Java and thus is not RMI-capable. This module converts the TCP/IP data structure to RMI (Remote Method Invocation) and from RMI to TCP/IP.
  • B-COMM Java GUI
The module allows a graphic display of the administration and configuration of the overall system. This includes users, clients, channels, network adapters, terminals and jobs.

Optional modules for B-COMM Java

  • Terminal status
  • User management
  • Several parallel application interfaces
  • CardLink ™
  • Biometrics
  • AVISO programming
  • Data communication
  • Parameter editors
  • E-mail server

Short description of the options:

Terminal status module
Visual representation of the statuses of the individual terminals and channels.

Optional module CardLink™
This module extends a partner application by the virtual network Kaba CardLink and/or the access system Kaba elolegic. This allows integrating and combining online and standalone access control in one integral system. It provides the necessary parameters for initializing the door components and the authorization for writing on the data carrier by means of a programmer. more...

Biometrics module
This module enables the use of biometric solutions. It manages the registered finger prints (finger templates) and passes them on to the connected biometric terminals.

AVISO module
This programming module allows creating AVISO routines.

User management module
This module is used to define users with different rights for system administration.

Application interfaces module
This module is used for distributing different registered data, for example from access control, time and attendance, or SFDC, to the appropriate application programs in each case.

Data communication module
This modules transfers registered data from the terminals to the application.

Parameter editor module
By setting the parameters, the numerous functions of the terminal are configured for different requirements. The parameter editor allows making these settings in the time recording terminals. A parameter setting changes the currently valid parameters and stores them in the memory of the terminal.

E-mail server module
When defined events occur, e.g. start/stop of a communication channel, e-mails are generated automatically and sent to configured addressees.
