Identification 

The essential basis for all access control, time recording and shop floor data collection applications is identification. 

Identification means checking an object compared to the provided, clearly characteristic features - the identity. This identity, for example the identity of a person, can be checked by means of clear characteristics that correspond to the ones of a badge. For this purpose, we use chip cards, magnetic cards, smart cards, the RFID technology and biometric methods.
In addition, different bar codes for the identification of orders, goods and products are used in BDE organizations and the enterprise resource planning. 

The biometric identification uses individual, body-specific characteristics such as fingerprint, face or iris to identify a person. Kaba pushes the fingerprint method that has become the leading biometric method due to the high acceptance by the users.
