Network-compatible module Bedanet 90 80 from Kaba for shop floor data and machine data collection

The machine hub Bedanet 90 80, a universally applicable and multifunctional I/O module (input/output module) for use in machine data collection has now been enhanced by a Scan Station function. A barcode touch reader or a barcode scanner can be connected to the RS 232 serial interface. Barcode documents are thus captured with the scanner and transmitted to the higher-level computer via the Ethernet interface. Bedanet 90 80 thus becomes a SDFC collection unit and is used everywhere where documents need to be scanned, for instance, in the textile industry. 

In an integrated system made up of time and attendance, access control, shop floor data collection, and machine data collection, the Bedanet 90 80 is an important link between machine and job. The Bedanet 90 80 module is equipped with a standard software that counts clock cycles either for one or two connected machines and monitors standstills, overclocking, and underclocking as well as inputs. It has 8 digital inputs which can be used as a counter or disturbance input, 4 digital outputs and 2 relays.  Additional I/O enhancements such as Bedanet 90 85 and sensors such as e.g. temperature sensors can be connected via ModBus. Reasons for malfunctions, as well as piece numbers, speeds, production levels, fill levels, and temperatures can be reported. When predefined events occur (e.g. order quantity reached), data records are passed on to the host application and relay and digital outputs are optionally controlled. 

With the integrated Web server, Bedanet 90 80 can be configured with a standard Web browser in a user-friendly manner. The module is optimally integrated into all corporate networks via TCP/IP. The I/O module communicates via the integrated Ethernet interface using the known B-COMM communication software with the MDC (machine data collection) application. This allows the production supervisor, for instance, to see all machinery at his or her workstation or at any other location via Internet and thus to see what is currently happening in his/her machinery halls.
