Access to the PlatformsAt many stations access to the platforms is regulated by automatic gate systems. They make sure that only legitimate travellers with a valid ticket have access to the trains. These automatic control units lighten the workload of station personnel and also help travellers get on the right train. Recommended solutionsHSB sensor barriers equipped with a ticket reader provide an ideal solution for controlling the entry of passengers.

Another solution we recommend is the TPB tripod barrier. Access is granted only after a valid ticket has been inserted into the reader. This releases the tripod arm which then responds to light pressure by automatically turning to let the traveller through. It then stops in the correct position for the next person. The whole process can begin again immediately. A conveyor belt can be installed next to the tripod barrier to take bags and suitcases.
We recommend matching automatic swing doors to provide access for people with reduced mobility. The doors are power-assisted and open and close using a minimum of force in the chosen direction. The time the doors remain open is adjustable. | ![]() |
