Access to the sanitary facilities
One of the major concerns of travellers at stations is often the lack of clean and well-kept sanitary facilities. For operators the cleaning and maintenance involved incurs considerable costs in terms of both time and money. Keeping undesirables and hooligans out of the toilets also helps to improve the standard of both cleanliness and security for customers. For these reasons, Kaba offers a solution which both controls access to the facilities and, at the same time, makes it possible to recover the costs of cleaning.
Recommended solution
Kaba has developed a special access system for sanitary facilities, consisting of a tripod barrier or a half-height turnstile with integrated payment machine.
A money-changing function is also available on request. The customer pays a specified amount and is then permitted to pass through the barrier and enter the facilities. The turnstile or tripod barrier always allows users to leave the facility without hindrance.
The system is equipped with a receipt issuing system based on the payback principle: with this receipt, the amount payed by the customer for the use of the sanitary facilities can be redeemed when consuming food or drinks in the station‘s catering facilities.
