Kaba's multi-award-winning interactive sales and marketing app has been awarded the gold prize in the apps category of the German Design Award by the German Design Council. The panel of this globally recognised design competition deemed the app 'ground breaking' in the context of the international design landscape and awarded it for its exceptional design qualities.
In this innovative new app, the user moves constantly and seamlessly through an interactive 3D environment, in which 3D products can be selected, simulated or configured. Users are able to effortlessly switch, for example, from a product demonstration in a building to product information or configuration. In other words, the Kaba 360° City is a sales tool which is as flexible as it is dynamic, combining various media in one app and with functionality on different levels. "For us, the Kaba 360° City app is a sales and marketing tool that takes us into the next generation," says Business Development Manager Uwe Eisele. "We are delighted to have won this coveted award."
The panel of judges was impressed by the visualisation of the complex Kaba solutions in the highly flexible app: "The visitor zooms intuitively through a virtual enterprise architecture, learning how and where the technology is used. This enables them to see individual devices up close and call up specific product information. It's a powerful tool that fulfils its purpose exceptionally well."
The German Design Award is presided over by the German Design Council – the German authority on branding and design whose mission is to represent German design culture. The Council was established as a foundation in 1953 on the initiative of the German Parliament and helps the industry to consistently use design to enhance brand value.
