Project: Ritz-Carlton Hotel ICC tower Hong Kong
At Ritz-Carlton’s latest luxury destination, RFID locks from Kaba’s subsidiary Saflok ensure convenience and security for guests. And at a truly top location: in Hong Kong’s tallest building, the ICC tower.
César Ritz laid the foundations of the luxury hotel experience in 1898. For him, a luxury hotel meant not only a pleasant environment, planned down to the last detail, and refined architecture, it also meant doing everything possible to accommodate guests’ wishes, and serving them with imaginative, top-class cuisine. The Ritz philosophy is still followed by all Ritz- Carlton hotels to this day.
Stay in Hong Kong’s tallest building
The Hong Kong skyline is now dominated by a new landmark standing 490 m tall: the International Commerce Centre, or ICC. With breathtaking views of Victoria Harbour, Hong Kong Island and the New Territories, the ICC is a luxury skyscraper providing commercial, residential and retail space. A total of 83 elevators makes for short waiting times and swift access to the upper floors. The Ritz-Carlton occupies floors 102 to 118 and, at 425 m, is the highest hotel in the world.
Kaba fitted all 312 hotel rooms with RFID locks as well as all the architectural hardware such as hinges and concealed closers. The Saflok Quantum Adese RFID locks enable guests to open their room door in contactless fashion simply by passing their access card by the lock. The advantages of this solution are clear. The technology ensures that the card cannot be accidentally erased, by being carried with the guest’s mobile telephone in their pocket, for instance. The Quantum Adese is modular in design, featuring an Adese lock inside trim with a Quantum sectional outside trim. This means that interior design requirements can be fulfilled to perfection.
