Project: Miejski Stadium Poznan
Europe’s next big football event, the 14th UEFA European Football Championship in 2012, to be staged in Poland and Ukraine, draws ever closer. The Municipal Stadium in Poznan, home ground to top Polish side KSS Lech Poznan, is already in fine form ready for the tournament. The stadium, opened in 1980, has been completely renovated and refurbished in a huge project lasting several years. The fully covered stands now provide space for over 43,000 spectators.
The city of Poznan in western Poland, one of the official hosts to the 2012 championship and owner of the stadium, opted for access products from Kaba Gallenschütz. A secure and rapid throughflow of spectators is ensured by 35 FTS-L01 turnstiles and 12 FTS-L04 turnstiles. The reopening of the stadium following its renovation was celebrated in style on 20 September 2010 with a big concert given by British pop singer Sting.
