Emergency Exit Enclosures according to EN179 

Not for public sites 

Features: 

• An escape lock according to EN 179 is used for cases of emergency, in which a panic situation is unlikely, but for which safe escape through a door must be guaranteed
• Releasing an emergency lock must be possible by one single action, even if previous knowledge about how to operate the lock is necessary
• To open the door from the inside a lever handle is used
• A panic lock is used as the locking element
• Panic locks can be used with almost all types of door furniture and can be retrofitted as well

Areas of Applications: 

• Emergency exit doors according to EN 179 are specified for buildings with no public traffic and whose patrons have knowledge about the function of the emergency exit doors (e.g. employees of a company)

Advantages: 

• Only “tested units” are available
• Simple operation
• Panic locks can also be used with mechatronic cylinders and door furniture
