2nd Place for Kaba at the SWISS TECHNOLOGY AWARDS 2008 |
![]() | Kaba won the 2nd prize with its newly developed identification technology RCID (Resistive Capacitive Identification) at the SWISS TECHNOLOGY AWARDS, a competition within the SWISS INNOVATION FORUM in Basle. The prize was handed over by Ursula Renold, Directress of the Federal Bureau for Education and Technology. Dr. Andreas Häberli, Director of Research and Development at Kaba proudly accepted the trophy. Kaba presented the new RCID technology with the example of the electronic locking system Kaba TouchGo™, which saves the user the bother of looking for keys. Simply touching the lever handle suffices to confirm if a person is authorized to open a door or not. In October 2008 Kaba presented the new RCID technology at the exhibition SECURITY in Essen for the very first time to the world public and received the highest innovation award of the security branch. No other competitor can look back at such tradition and success as the SWISS TECHNOLOGY AWARD. The award has helped the most innovative ideas leap to the market since 1987.
