Is this for you?

As a Design Engineer you will draw up technical documentation for our products. On the basis of information and sketches provided by the engineers and other specialists, you will calculate and draw individual parts and modules of machines, devices and installations. As a Design Engineer you will learn to make freehand sketches of parts and modules and to create technical drawings with the aid of the computer, in line with precise standards. Based on your documentation, the parts will be manufactured and installed in the Production department.

Vocational school

In the E profile you will attend a vocational school two days a week during the 1st and 2nd years of your training, and one day a week in your 3rd and 4th years. In the BM profile (with vocational school leaving certificate), you will attend school twice a week throughout all four years of your training course. In addition to the subjects such as materials, production, drawing and machine technology, there will also be a focus on the aspects of language, communication and society.

Your training course with us

You will spend the first six months at the Oberland Training Centre ("azo" for short) in Uster, where you will learn the basics of drawing technology, design technology and CAD foundations. You will gain more in-depth knowledge of design technology in the Design & Application department, in our testing workshop and in partner companies. Finally, you will complete your main training in our Operating Equipment department.

  • Requirements: "A" secondary school, good grades in Mathematics, technical flair and talent in drawing.
