In a career as an electronics technician, an extremely high level of precision, patience and staying power play an important role. Using the very latest tools such as 3D layout programs and high-tech soldering irons, you will tackle activities such as the development of electronic switches and the subsequent manufacture of prototypes. In the field of microcontroller technology, you can prove your skills dealing with a range of programming languages.

Vocational school

Throughout the four years, you will attend a vocational school two days a week. You will learn the theoretical background in the main subjects of Electronics, Electrotechnology, Hardware and Software Technology. These main subjects will be supplemented by different subjects such as General Education, Mathematics and Physics. You can graduate from the vocational school with or without the vocational school leaving certificate.

Your training course with us

You will spend the first year of your training in the Oberland Training Centre ("azo" for short) in Uster. For the remainder of your 4-year course, you will be trained in the Mechatronics Development department, where you will always be at the cutting edge of global security technology and will experience new developments first-hand.

  • Requirements: "A" secondary school, goods grades in Mathematics, good spatial awareness and the ability to recognise mathematical connections.

  • Award upon completion: Electronics technician with Swiss Federal Certificate of Proficiency
